Happy Birthday Vance! (with pictures fixed)

(Okay, so this is a little late, but better late than never!)  He's one and we can't believe it!  To celebrate his first year of life we had two celebrations- a mini celebration on his actual birthday that he shares with Grandpa Thompson and one the following weekend with cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents!  I think he thoroughly enjoyed both:) 

To top off his party day, he started walking!!!  Michael and I are enjoying the walking "process" much more with Vance.  He has proven to be much slower than his older brother at this walking thing (Weston was pretty much taking his first steps and running in the same week), but it is sooo cute to watch Vance progress. 

Vance's other new development is really making his will known!  Weston can't get away with taking anything from him anymore:)  However, even with that added tension, the boys relationship is blossoming and I think they each genuinely love each other and seem to prefer the other one around.  I am so excited to see how this relationship progresses now that Vance is on the verge of keeping up with Weston.  It has also been fun to watch Vance pick up on so many things Weston does and copy him. (It isn't so cute when it is the other way around, because that usually means Weston is copying Vance crying.)  Vance has picked up some of Weston's sense of humor, but he also has now made it obvious that he has a sense of humor all his own:)  He surprises us with how plain silly he can be! 

Other than that, he is still our cuddly, sweet, little boy.  He truly has brought the greatest sense of joy and love to our family, and we CAN'T imagine life without him.   WE LOVE YOU VANCIE!!
