Then, the day after Christmas we headed to Austin for a weekend vaction that Michael surprised me with! It ended up being a wonderful getaway and Weston couldn't have been better. He LOVED seeing the sights and was so happy the entire trip. In fact, on Monday when we were back home he was fussy all day- we think he wanted to be back in Austin and was just bored with us after such an exciting weekend. The first day we got there it was nice and warm, so we visited some outdoor gardens, a natural springs aquifer, and Mt. Bonelle.
In an attempt to learn more about his world, Weston puts everything in his mouth.....
including flowers...oops, mommy and daddy shouldn't have let him get that close:)
The next day we visited the capital, the Texas History Museum, and the mall. Weston loved the capital for some reason. He smiled at anybody that looked in his direction and literally talked the entire time- more than we have ever heard him talk! We ended up leaving our tour group because he wouldn't stop talking- even though we thought it was adorable, we didn't think everybody else felt the same.
Here is a video of Weston telling us all about his day.
Our trip concluded with mass at St. Mary's Cathedral and then a 3-D IMAX movie. Weston was captivated by the movie, but did end up falling asleep in the middle of it even though it was extremely loud. We were pleasantly surprised at how well he did.
