New Experiences

We went out and purchased a booster seat/high chair for Weston since he is starting to eat solids. He seems to love his new chair but still doesn't like eating in it. He continues to spit out his cereal or just hold it on his tongue and try to push it out without closing his mouth. Today, I tried feeding him a tiny bite of applesauce just to see if he would have the same reaction and he did- only worse. So, we will just keep trying a little everyday and hope he eventually starts liking it.

Weston's other new experience was going to the park for the first time this week. We had some time to kill while our house was being shown, so we took advantage of our 70 degree weather (man, we are really going to miss this weather when we move back up north)!

This week also brought a bittersweet new experience. It seems that Weston may be entering his separation anxiety stage. I say it is bittersweet because there is a certain sweetness to knowing that your child only wants you and a certain bitterness because you realize he only wants you and it may be awhile until you can leave him again! For my birthday, Benj and Mary gave Mike and me a gift card to the movies and said they would babysit Weston so we could go out on a date. Seeing as Weston is very familiar with their house and Mary, we thought that all would go pretty smoothly. Well, we ended up making it through our movie, but then had to cut the night short because Weston wasn't taking his bottle and kept crying. It became obvious what the problem was when we arrived and he stopped crying within a matter of minutes, let out a few giggles, and then took his bottle with no problem. Needless to say, we are going to try again sometime in the near future and maybe have them come to our house to watch him.
